June 24, 2018 by neal Leave a Comment

After a short hiatus, the SQLSaturday BI edition is coming back to Atlanta. The event will be held on September 22, 2018 at the Microsoft office in Alpharetta.

This year we’ll have two excellent PreCons available:

From 0 to DAX By Marco Russo, MVP, Dax Guru & Author

Description: The DAX language is the foundation of self-service Business Intelligence using the Microsoft stack. It is the language used to query and program Power BI, PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel, and SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular models. Learning the basics of DAX is very simple, but mastering it is a different story because it requires a mindset that needs some study, for both BI Professionals and Information Workers.

During this one-day workshop, the author of the bestseller books The Definitive Guide to DAX, The Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services: The BISM Tabular Model, and Building Data Models with Power Pivot, will guide you in the process of learning the DAX language, through many examples and scenarios that will help you understand the important concepts of DAX and how to leverage them in the everyday work.

The workshop is useful to many profiles: Information Workers interested in exploiting the many interesting features of PowerPivot for Excel and BI developers who want to learn the DAX language.

Deploying Power BI in your Enterprise by Adam Sexton & Patrick Leblanc from Guy In A Cube

Description: Have you wondered what the right approach is for creating and deploying your Power BI content? Which tools are the right ones? When do you use app workspaces and apps? How to understand your licensing options? And how to keep your data up to date? If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, then this pre-con is for you!

During the pre-con, we will look at the following areas

  • Deployment options
  • Licensing options
  • Data storage
  • Refreshing data
• Collaboration and sharing options
  • All about administration and security
  • and more…

What’s a full day without time for your questions also!
