SYSERR229

April 22, 2018 by neal Leave a Comment

SYSERR229|The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object ‘IdList’

Recently I ran into this error while validating a model on a new instance. I checked the SQL accounts that MDS is running under and one of them was incorrect. The ‘mds_schema_user’ no longer had lost access to the ‘mdm’ schema. I granted the account ownership of the schema the model was able to validate normally.

Error 0x8009000B “Key not valid for use in specified state.”

April 8, 2013 by neal Leave a Comment

This error message appeared the other day and it turned out it wasn’t as bad as it looked.

Failed to decrypt protected XML node “DTS:Password” with error 0x8009000B “Key not valid for use in specified state.”. You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.

The protection level is set to EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey on the package and the account password used to access the source database was changed. Once the password was modified in the package everything ran as expected.

SSIS Frameworks Magic presentation

December 20, 2011 by neal Leave a Comment

Today I attended Andy Leonard‘s presentation for his SSIS Framework. He has obviously put a lot of effort into this project. It is very robust, and has enough flexibility to do just about anything you want. He has posted the sample code and I am going to take a more in depth look.

The meeting itself was hosted on MeetingBurner, which looks like a new meeting/webinar service. MeetingBurner looks like a nice new tool to try out.

Andy sent out a follow up email that he will be presenting again on 12/27/11 at 10am ET. The link is: http://AndyLeonard.enterthemeeting.com/m/4DEJZZ1K. Check it out if you get the chance!
