Logitech h800 wireless headset

April 22, 2013 by neal 1 Comment

I needed a replacement for my computer headset and picked the Logitech h800 wireless headset. So far, so good. The big selling point for me where was that it is wireless using Nano USB and Bluetooth. It is convenient to be able to pair it with a phone or tablet and the process was straightforward and quick.

Pros:
Wireless Bluetooth and Nano USB
Lightweight
Comfortable
Sound quality is very good

Cons:
The microphone is noise canceling, but the headphones are not
The foam feels like it could tear easily

The headphones are rechargeable via micro USB and claim to have a 6 hour charge. I haven’t tested that, but they’ve made it through multiple webinars and phone calls easily. You can also use them while charging.

The controls on the side took a few tries to get used to but are now easy to change. If you get them you might want to get used to them before your first call.

I was able to walk around the office and house with them on and not notice any change in quality. I am sure this will vary depending where you are. This is a major improvement over what I had before.

Overall:
I bought the headset a couple of weeks ago and have had time to check it out. I like the h800 and would buy it again.

This error message appeared the other day and it turned out it wasn’t as bad as it looked.

Failed to decrypt protected XML node “DTS:Password” with error 0x8009000B “Key not valid for use in specified state.”. You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.

The protection level is set to EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey on the package and the account password used to access the source database was changed. Once the password was modified in the package everything ran as expected.
